Locations of Work: 

We currently have opportunities for either Walking Routes or Driving Routes in the Redcar and surrounding area offered on a Full or Part Time basis. 

Hours of Work: 

We offer shifts on a rotating 2-week cycle, all applicants must be flexible to work alternate weekends OR 1 day every weekend. Shift options are: 

Mornings & Lunch 07.00 – 14.00 

Teas & Evenings 16.00 – 22.00 

Full Days 07.00 - 14.00 and 16.00 - 22.00 

Other shifts and weekends only are available 

Your New Home Care Assistant Role: 

As a Home Care Assistant with Care 24-7 you will be attending Clients homes to provide all aspects of care and support working in a warm, professional, kind and caring manner. You will actively perform the core tasks of providing personal care and intimate personal care and providing support and assistance within the Clients own home. You will also demonstrate good communication skills and the confidence to communicate with relatives, your colleagues and other professionals bother verbally and written to record information. 

Duties to Include: 

To assist Clients with all aspects of personal care including: 

Getting up, washed and dressed, Getting ready for bed, Baths and showers, Going to the toilet, Hair and nail care, make-up, shaving, oral care, Support to take medication, Catheter care, Help with meal preparation including eating and drinking 

To help people who use our service to participate in daily activities of their choice such as: 

  • Companionship on social activities and outings 
  • Crafts, reading and writing 
  • Shopping, collecting prescriptions 
  • Collecting pensions and benefits 
  • Paying bills 
  • Laundry and ironing 
  • Light housework duties 
  • Work in accordance with the policies and procedures of Care 24-7 and complying with legal requirements e.g., CQC & Health and Safety at Work Act. 
  • Ensure that the care tasks detailed on the support plan are performed and report any concerns to Managers / Supervisors. 
  • Build two-way relationships of trust with your colleagues, people we support and their family. 
  • Ensure a safe working environment for yourself, the Clients and your work colleagues and report any concerns immediately. 
  • Complete simple statistical information and maintain records using the Mobile Phone Care Planner app. 
  • Commit to learning and developing yourself in your work and undertake any training or development programme in order to improve your personal skills. 

Skills Required for Your New Role: 

  • Demonstrate a warm and friendly, compassionate approach with empathy, understanding and working in a safe manner. 
  • Good clear communication skills and the ability to update confidential and important information. 
  • Build rapport with Clients and their wider relatives, your colleagues and other professionals. 
  • Provide support and care across personal and intimate care needs in a sensitive manner whilst ensuring dignity and respect are maintained at all times. 
  • Attend and complete ongoing training throughout your role including online modules and practical equipment training. 
  • Attend ad-hoc and quarterly supervision and guidance sessions with your Line Manager for training and development purposes. 
  • Work in a confidential manner sometimes dealing with sensitive information, protect and respect personal information at all times 
  • Display clear and effective decision making skills ensuring the Clients safety and needs are paramount. 
  • Accurately and honestly report any concerns in line with company policy to your Line Manager. 
  • Ensure the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment at all times. 
  • Excellent timekeeping and attendance record.
